Until investigators make a move, the civil case takes place and Crossroads choses to address the public, I think Mark Peterson at Open Hands deserves the last word:

“If anything, I am hoping for an organization which is transparent, accessible, and though fallible, authentic. I want to hear the full story, the humbling story—not one coated with religious mumbo-jumbo where image is more valued than substance. That’s where this story began; it doesn’t need to end there.”

It’s to bad that these men who have given of themselves and their family 100% to the ministry can’t be rewarded.No where in the scriptures does it say christians you can’t have wealth.The Lord will prosper anyone who gives of their all and only ask. Check the prayer of Jabez “Bless me Lord and increase my teritory”.I don’t know why anybody can’t have a million dollar home unless their priorities are messed up.I do and I have 5 schildren besides.

It seems we have very low standards in the church today, there is no pursuit of holiness, no crucifying the flesh. The church looks like the world, pursues the same things as the world. The disciples’ cross has been laid aside. Satan is not our worst enemy, our own flesh is – and without the cross carnality abounds. With all my heart I believe this is what the Lord is calling our attention to by bringing this problem into the light. I don’t think the issue in this case is about unethical or knowingly illegal activity, but rather the simple common (but deadly) carnality which resides in all our flesh. God doesn’t want His children to be rich, He wants us crucified.

Another common problem is that we ignore Jesus’ exhortation to “hate our brother and sister” to our spiritual peril – the most wonderful, kind, generous and thoughtful person in the world is still only corrupt flesh. We must be careful that our loyalty and trust is in God alone, that we follow Him alone and not man. It is always a matter of “WHO has led you astray?” Not the devil, but a “WHO”.

The Mainse family don’t live in opulence just a comfortable life working hard for our Savior.

I have seen the million dollar home of Ron Mainse in an exclusive community which has only million dollar homes on Chelsea road Kilbride Oontario.

Here is a scripture the Lord gave me some time ago when I asked Him if there was anything in His word about gambling:

“Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay is the man who gains riches by unjust means. When his life is half gone, they will desert him, and in the end he will prove to be a fool.” (Jer. 17:11)

What does the word “unjust” signify? It is not necessarily talking about something illegal or criminal, (remember God’s laws are higher than man’s) it is talking about money gained undeservedly, ie, that one has not rightfully earned or inherited. If one gains riches by speculating on the stock market or investing in other types of schemes, (money making money in other words) this would seem to apply. This is why the present Babylonian system of wealth is built on a house of cards…

Did you see the million dollar homes that Ron and Reynold Mainse in a exclusive neighborhood? Amazing that people who worked on in a nonprofit Christian corporation could acquire such things without doing anything unethical? No wonder God exposed them for being sons of Eli (1Samuel 2)!

How sad to read such a judgemental, uncompasionate assessment of thus tragic situation that the good(?) Rev Dr. Gilliant, posted on June 8/09 I would expect more from a man of God? than his condemning attitude. As, as follower of Jesus, I think we should at least wait until all the facts are out. Our mandate is to pray that the truth will come out. Jesus is the Truth and He doesn’t need us slinging mud at our brothers in Christ. Perhaps a little more time in the Word of Go Rev. Gilliant would help you with your atitude.

I worked at 100 Huntley Street in the Communications Division for approx. 5 yrs. (Doug Burke was my boss)back in the 80′s and we had a lot of dealings with the finances and fundraising and everything was done in a very honest and proper manner. The people I worked with there were fantastic, caring, compassionate and if you were feeling down they were always there to pray with you “on the spot” or do some nice little thing to cheer you up. I’ll never forget them as long as I live! Don’t be so quick to judge Ron and Reyn Mainse – things do happen in life and Satan is always on the lookout trying to trip us up, especially when things are going the way the Lord would have them! Please be in prayer for this Ministry!
